The terragraphics by Ekkeland Götze have accompanied our LE REFUGE from the very beginning and are a striking expression and homage to the earth, which produces everything which is essential for humanity. «Honor the sea and keep it with the earth» has always been our motto and so the terragraphics integrate naturally into our premises.

Do you love Provence and would like to purchase a piece of Provence soil? The 16 terragraphics from the L’OCRE series in the bar area were printed by Ekkeland Goetze with original ochre earth from France's richest ochre deposits, the quarries of Roussillon and Rustrel in the Calavon valley, between the Vaucluse mountains and the Luberon massif, on BFK Rives 300 g and stretched on stretcher frames. ARLES (Briefe an van Gogh) is another project by Ekkeland Götze at Le Refuge and a tribute to the great artist and his place of work. However, Ekkeland Götze does not only work with earths from France. Ekkeland Götze is working on an image of the EARTH. To this end, he extracts EARTH from predetermined locations within clearly defined individual projects. Ekkeland Götze prints this pure, unmanipulated EARTH on paper, fresco on fresh lime mortar or other surfaces using a standardized process he has developed. The result is a homogeneous body of work that forms an even more extensive and complex image of the EARTH.

You can get to know the artist and his work personally in his studio in Munich. Studio visits are only possible by appointment.

As an additional measure for a healthy environment, at Le Refuge we have chosen AIRsteril®, an air filter system based on UV-C lamps and catalyst grids, tested by the Frauenhofer Institute and the Chamber of Commerce of Upper Bavaria, which is also successfully used at Munich Airport.
